Restart PC & Run as Administrator

The fastest fix. Clears temporary file locks and grants elevated permissions.

Step-by-Step

    Save all work and restart your computer. Do not use "Shut down" — Windows 10/11 Fast Startup keeps system files locked. Use Restart.

    After reboot, locate the application executable (.exe) or its shortcut.

  3. 3

    Right-click → "Run as administrator". If UAC prompts, click Yes.

  4. 4

    If the app works: right-click again → Properties → Compatibility → check "Run this program as an administrator" → Apply. This makes it permanent.

    Still fails? Move to Fix #2.

How to Verify It Worked

  • Application launches without the 0xc000007b dialog.
  • If admin works but normal double-click fails, the issue is permission-related, not DLL-related.

Still Not Working?

Move to Fix #2 (Reinstall VC++ Redistributables) — this is the #1 root cause.
